TrainFX leads by example as City strengthens ties with China

Recently, TrainFX’ Managing Director, Qingsong Han visited China as part of the delegation led by Derby City Council leader Ranjit Banwait.

The “Midlands Engine” China mission, organised by the China-Britain Business Council and Midland Engine, was to establish key contacts and a spirit of collaboration, to look at opportunities to work together and drum up support for Chinese investment in our local companies and institutions. In particular, the delegation focused on promoting a partnership between Derby and the Chinese City of Hefei in Anhui Province.

Derby City Council are keen to demonstrate the benefits of foreign investment in Derby – TrainFX have already been leading the way and have become an example of what is possible.

TrainFX is one of first companies in the region to demonstrate a prosperous, mutually-beneficial working relationship with China and we are proud to be leading by example. This year, we have established a joint venture with Anhui Comprehensive Research Institute (AHCTRI) Co., Ltd, based in Hefei. This partnership capitalises on our design expertise for on-train communications systems, and AHCTRI’s local network and experience, helping us reach the international market and compete on the global stage.

Our joint venture with China provides the perfect platform for exploring further afield, not just for us but for our customers too. It is hoped this can pave the way for similar successful relationships for other Derbyshire-based businesses.

LCD Fleet Roll Out

TrainFX are delighted to announce the roll out of our new Passenger Information Systems with our full colour, LCD screens on-board the first set of Porterbrook owned class 158 vehicles running on Great Western routes. This is the first in a substantial roll out of LCD displays, so keep an eye out as they pop up across numerous fleets over the next few years!

LCD Technology Breakthrough

TrainFX have been busy developing another addition to their range of innovative products, this time in the form of Passenger Information Systems using LCD technology.  These new, full-colour screens offer clear, crisp text and graphics along with HD multimedia capabilities and real time clock.  In addition to the enhancements, we’ve still ensured the screens are PRM TSI compliant.
These innovative screens are currently being showcased on Porterbrook’s Class 144 evolution demonstrator vehicle.
**UPDATE** – NOW ROLLING OUT ACROSS GREATER WESTERN ROUTES

Introducing our brand new website

Welcome to the new look TrainFX website!

In addition to the new contracts and systems we have been developing this year, we have also been hard at work developing our brand new website. Not a few tweaks or just a fresh lick of paint, but a complete re-imagining from the ground up.

With our redesign, we wanted to build a platform to explain and showcase our products, services as well as our values and approach in a way that is as innovative and forward thinking as the rail technology solutions we supply! Core to delivering the new web experience for our visitors is embodying the values of our company; it should be clean, accessible, responsive and a great communicator!

The site was developed in-house by the same media production team who bring our LCD screen content to life on board rail vehicles.
